Torfi Pálsson,  HR Manager

Torfi holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource and Personnel Administration. He joined Iceland Drilling in 2014, bringing over seven years of prior experience in a similar role. Torfi is responsible for overseeing all HR-related activities, including hiring, training, and employee development.

Bruce Gatherer, Business development and Operation Support

Bruce is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in geothermal and drilling industries, specializing in business development, project management, and global geothermal operations. Currently a Business Development and Drilling Advisor at Iceland Drilling Company, he has held key roles with various drilling and drilling related organizations in geothermal, civil engineering, mining and hydrocarbon projects . Passionate about sustainable energy, Bruce is committed to advancing geothermal energy as a major global player while ensuring operational excellence and environmental sustainability.

Þórir Sveinbjörnsson, Deep Drilling Project Manager

Thorir is a third-generation professional with Iceland Drilling, having joined the company in 1994. Over the years, he has progressed through various roles, gaining extensive and unparalleled experience in drilling operations. His career also includes onsite management positions with several major European drilling contactors, further broadening his expertise. Currently, Thorir serves as a Project Manager, supporting geothermal drilling projects on a global scale.

He has worked in diverse regions, including Iceland, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe, and brings exceptional knowledge, first-class leadership skills, and a deep understanding of geothermal operations to his role.

Helga Vala Jónsdóttir, QHSE

Helga completed her studies at a university in Iceland, specializing in programming and project management. She worked in France as an Industrialization Project Manager before joining Iceland Drilling as an Administrative Project Manager. In this role, she contributed to geothermal projects in Djibouti, Africa, St. Vincent in the Caribbean, the Azores in Europe, and several locations in Iceland.

Helga now serves as the QHSE Manager, ensuring that Iceland Drilling’s high standards are maintained and continually improved
